影片始於河北鄉下一個臥病的老農，他盛讚女兒能幹，撐起整個家的重擔。影片隨著主角來到北京一個胡同，原來女兒是在北京一條暗巷裡當私娼。影片圍繞農村麥收的前後，記錄這個女孩在北京與鄉下的兩種處境、兩種生活。本片在雲之南紀錄影像展放映時，引發觀眾激烈的反應，有人質疑道德問題，強烈主張撤片，但影片仍得到多數人肯定，贏得觀眾票選獎。（本片僅限電影節現場售票）

In June when the wheat is about to ripe, she returns home from Beijing to Hebei. Her father is lying severely ill in bed. Earlier, we see this country girl of barely 20 years old in a corner of her life as a prostitute. Now her father is critically ill.
