《永久居留》在台北作小規模上映，創下百萬票房，並引起觀眾熱情討論，儼然有「儀式電影」（Cult Film）的架勢，電影節特別放映一場《永久居留導演版》，比院線版本多出近30分鐘的長度。 “Permanent Residence” has screened in selected theaters in Taipei and has made over a million in box office revenues. It has raised enormous amount of discussion among audiences and was said to become a CULT FILM. TaipeiFF would especially like to add a Director’s Version screening, exceeding 30 minutes in length compared to the original version. |

愛上一個註定不能愛你的男人，你願意耗用多少青春和氣力，去接受那些甜蜜與折磨，換一個很可能令你心碎的結果？當一個同男與一名異男，發展出一段比情侶更親密的關係，他們最貼近的距離又是多近？這是一個關於同性戀男子，與異性戀男子「談感情」的故事，也是一個關於「失去」的故事。男主角Ivan從小就不相信自己能活過30歲，他迷戀死亡，也一直想求得「人死後往哪裡去」的解答。他認識了異性戀男子Windson，兩人發展出一段刻骨銘心，卻相當艱困的戀愛。電影記述了Ivan的過去丶現在，也預言了未來。
Ivan has been searching an answer to a lifetime question: Where will we be after the present life? On the way, he went thru a difficult passion with Windson, a straight guy, made a longtime friendship with Josh, a Palestinian, experienced the death of his beloved elderly, witness the wedding of his brother and the birth of a nephew. Eventually he designed a permanent residence at his own soil to host all his love ones for the next life, in case there is any, while his friend Josh created a home at the Dead Sea for those not so much loved.
